Description

The main measuring element of the glass rotameter is a vertically mounted glass tube and a float that can move up and down inside. When the fluid passes from bottom to bottom through the conical glass tube, there is a pressure difference between the top and bottom of the float, and the float rises under this difference pressure. When the lifting force, the buoyancy force on the float and the viscous lift force are equal to the gravity of the float, the float is in an equilibrium position. Therefore, there is a certain proportional relationship between the flow rate of the fluid flowing through the glass rotameter and the rising height of the float, that is, the flow area of the glass rotameter, and the position height of the float can be used as a flow measurement.
